The MarketGauge Home Page provides an overall analysis of what is going on in the market on both a macro basis, and an intra-day basis. From the Home Page you can drill down to much further detail on industry groups, stocks, or even the overall market. The buttons on the top blue navigation bar take you into various sections of the product (Macro-Analysis, HotSpots, Portfolio, and HyperQuotes). The left side navigation bar offers various drill downs into Indexes, Sectors, and Industry Groups, as well as a wide array of Market Scans.

Index Performance: The first section of the home page shows the performance of key indexes with charts. The link underneath the index table provides the current and historical performance of many key indexes. Clicking on an index will provide you with a list of the best and worst performing stocks in the index.

Industry Group Leaders/Laggards: This table provides today’s industry group leaders and laggards ranked by the biggest percent change in market capitalization so you can see what groups are influencing today’s action. Clicking on an industry group will allow you to easily analyze the stocks driving these groups up or down. If you click on the link below this table you can see the performance of each market sector.

Group Rotation and Three Month Leaders: The next table shows the leading industry groups ranked by their three month performance. This table also shows relative strength rankings for three months, last week and today, allowing you to see how the leading groups have rotated. It’s a great place to find trading and investing ideas. Clicking on an industry group will allow you to instantly analyze the stocks within that leading group both technically and fundamentally.

Accumulation/Distribution Analysis: The next two sections of the Home Page help give you a sense of overall market conditions. The first table shows Accumulation/Distribution analysis. This is an indication of whether institutions are buying or selling. If an index is up on greater volume than yesterday, it is an Accumulation day. If it is down on greater volume, it is a Distribution day. Otherwise it is neutral. We show you the number of Accumulation and Distribution days over the past two weeks, indicating the direction and strength of the market index.

Market Outlook Overview: The Market Outlook table is a summary of our Macro-Analysis tool. It covers 37 key market indexes divided into five categories: Market Momentum, Contrary Opinion, Monetary, Fundamental, and Smart Money factors. The indicators cover short term, intermediate, and long term periods. This Market Outlook summary provides broad insight into where the market is going and what factors are behind it.
